Process

From quote request to installed window

The two buyer paths do not share a schedule, a document set, or a decision sequence, so they are laid out separately here rather than averaged into one generic list.

Commercial path

Six steps, driven by the window schedule

  1. 01

    Quote request

Role, building type, project stage, opening and elevation counts, and the unit types involved. Enough to know whether this is a schedule-driven scope.

  2. 02

    Scope review

We work through the drawings or the existing conditions and confirm the unit types, the performance targets, and any egress or historic constraints.

  3. 03

    Field measure

Every opening measured and recorded. Nominal sizes from the drawings are not used for fabrication on retrofit work.

  4. 04

    Shop drawings

Unit-by-unit drawings for review and approval, including anchorage, glazing makeup, and finish.

  5. 05

    Fabrication

Units built to the approved schedule. This is the long pole on institutional and summer-window projects.

  6. 06

    Install by elevation

Sequenced so openings are closed the day they are opened, with the elevation moving in a predictable direction for occupant notice.

How a window schedule works

Residential path

Five steps, driven by the room count

  1. 01

    Quote request

Rooms, an approximate window count, and your timing. Two minutes, no measurements required.

  2. 02

    Scope & measure

We confirm the openings, the existing frame condition, and whether any bedroom unit has an egress requirement.

  3. 03

    Selection

Operation type, finish, and glazing package, chosen against how the house is actually exposed.

  4. 04

    Fabrication

Units built to your opening sizes rather than trimmed to fit from stock.

  5. 05

    Install

Room by room, old units out and new units set the same day, flashed and sealed, interior finish protected.

Residential aluminum windows

What does not change

Openings are measured before units are ordered, on every project of every size. Aluminum windows are fabricated to the opening, so a quote produced without that step is provisional by definition and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

Egress and energy requirements are checked against the code edition adopted in your municipality for your scope. That check happens before fabrication, not at inspection, which is the single most common way a replacement project loses a month.

Step one is the same either way

The form branches after the first question, so you only answer what applies to your project.
